Privacy & reader data

Our reading statistics count page views and reading engagement. They do not use tracking cookies or identify individual readers. We record the article, date, broad traffic source and a random identifier for each page load, and retain these events for 90 days. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

Feedback is visible only to authorised newsroom members. Names and email addresses are optional except when requesting subscription updates. We use contact details to handle your request. Subscription requests are reviewed by the newsroom; submitting a request does not yet enrol you in an automated newsletter.

Short-lived, daily-hashed network identifiers help limit spam. We do not store your raw IP address in feedback or analytics records. Server and hosting providers may keep separate technical logs.

To ask about, correct or delete your submitted data, contact the newsroom. Include the reference number shown after submission where possible.
