Bezzecchi Wins Indonesian MotoGP as Martin Retakes Lead
Marco Bezzecchi won the Indonesian MotoGP race at Mandalika on Sunday, leading a top-four finish for Aprilia. Jorge Martin finished third and took back the lead of the world championship from Marc Marquez.
Bezzecchi Makes the Winning Move
Marco Bezzecchi won the 2026 Indonesian MotoGP after a strong fight with Raul Fernandez. Fernandez started from pole position but lost first place at the first corner. He quickly moved back in front and led for most of the race. Near the end, Bezzecchi found a way past and pulled away to win by 4.260 seconds.
Fernandez finished second, and his result was even more impressive than it looked. After the race, he said he had two broken fingers. He hurt his hand when he touched bikes with Bezzecchi in Saturday’s sprint race.
A Big Day for Aprilia
Aprilia bikes took all of the top four places. Jorge Martin was sixth after the first lap, but he fought his way up to finish third. Ai Ogura made a late charge and passed two riders to finish fourth. It was a very special day for the Italian team, one day after a difficult sprint race.
Martin Back on Top of the Standings
Marc Marquez led the championship by four points after winning the sprint on Saturday. On Sunday, he finished sixth after a long fight with Pedro Acosta. Acosta finished fifth and said tyre pressure problems made his race harder. Marquez said he had no such problems.
With his podium finish, Martin moved back to the top of the world championship.
